LEADERSHIP TEAM
Jenn Dawkins is a Captain and Acting Battalion Chief with Vancouver Fire Rescue Services, with experience in hazmat, heavy rescue, HUSAR, training, outreach, and public education roles. A JIBC instructor and co-founder of Camp Ignite, she now serves as Founding President of Fire Service Women BC.
Carlene Pires is a POC Captain with KBRFR and the first woman promoted to Captain in their 40-year history. As FireSmart Coordinator, she leads wildfire resiliency across 12 communities. A 2025 BC Wildland Firefighter Vanguard Award recipient, she mentors women and youth in the fire service.
Erin Wilson is a Lieutenant with Halfmoon Bay Volunteer Fire Department, Fire Officer I certified, and chairs both Health & Safety and the Firefighters Association. She promotes fire education and is committed to strengthening inclusion and diversity in volunteer fire departments across BC.
Vanessa is the Finance Manager at the Strathcona Regional District with 15+ years of public sector finance experience, including support for fire and emergency services. As FSWBC Treasurer, she champions transparency, sustainability, and strengthening opportunities for women in the fire service.
Nicole lives in Smithers, BC and is a Paid-On-Call Firefighter. More Bio write-up coming soon.
Martina Wall from Telkwa, BC has served in the fire service for over 16 years. She advocates for mental health and fosters a supportive culture in the fire community. Martina mentors young women pursuing the fire service and, as a wellness entrepreneur, promotes holistic well-being in her community.
